Post: Technical Officer
Objectives of the Programme
To assist the Member States to improve access to quality essential drugs and other medicines, as part of progress towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC); through technical assistance and capacity building on aspects of medicines policy, procurement, and management through an improved regional evidence base and stakeholder participation.
Education: Degree in medicine, or health sciences or pharmacy with a post-graduate degree in pharmacology/pharmacy, or public health with a specialization in medicine policy and management.
Desirable: Training in public health/ management/public administration and/or, pharmaceutical policy and management
Experience
Essential: At least ten (10) years' relevant experience, including considerable experience obtained in the international context in low- and middle-income countries, in the development and implementation of country health programmes involving pharmaceutical system strengthening; management at a senior level. Desirable: Experience in medicines policy development and implementation, medicines selection, quality assurance, procurement and supply chain management and managing a national essential medicines programme. Development and management of antimicrobial stewardship programs and surveillance of antimicrobial use programs.
Salary:
The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 88,162 / USD 2417 per month for the duty station indicated above.
